Tsavo National Park is the oldest and largest in Kenya spanning across 65 hectares of land, making it larger than several European countries and six times the size of the Maasai Mara. Established in 1948, Tsavo National Park is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, and is home to the magnificent Chyulu hills in the east as well as the mystical Shetani lava formations to the west.

Finch Hattons is a luxury African safari camp that combines its love for Tsavo with world-class facilities. The camp is entirely isolated, so much so that you would be forgiven for forgetting that the rest of the world exists at all. In this place, it’s just you, your guests, the vast and varied terrain that stretches in every direction, and the many beasts and birds that call it home.

Our camp’s 17 luxury suites are designed to leave as light a footprint as possible on this place we call heaven. The tents offer expansive views of the surrounding landscape in total privacy. In addition, the open-air design of the tents invites the cool breeze that blows over the nearby natural springs and welcomes the sounds and scents of the African bush straight to your tent.

Whether you are lazing in your bed or relaxing on the elevated deck, coffee in hand, you will have a photo-worthy unobstructed view of the watering hole from our multi-level tent layout.

We were a family of 10 staying at Finch Hattons over Christmas. We, like many families, have Christmas traditions which can sometimes be hard to deliver on when away from home. Johnathan and the team at Finch Hattons were so incredibly accommodating, helpful and gracious and delivered on every single thing we asked for - including cookies and milk for Santa, and a dedicated room (with a Christmas tree just for us!) for us to open our gifts on Christmas morning. The food and service were second to none - all delivered by a team of incredible people. Our stay at Finch Hattons was just perfect. There simply is no other place on the planet that could have made us feel more welcomed or cared for. Thank you from all of us, and we will most certainly be back!

We stayed for 4 nights in June and it was honestly one of the best experiences of our lives! The camp was so beautiful and private, the lake in the middle with the hippos and other wildlife on the very edge of your balcony was amazing to wake up to and the amount of animals we saw on our game drives was unbelievable! The tents were beautiful and very comfortable. The food was 5* and the service was even better. We also visited the spa and did a yoga session whilst there which was amazing! The staff at the campsite are what made our stay so special as they literally couldn't do enough for us. We want to give a special thanks to our guide Richard who was so knowledgeable and made sure we saw as many animals as possible and really made our game drives amazing. I also want to thank the rest of the staff as every single person we met made us feel like family and really made it a memorable experience. I couldn't recommend this campsite enough and we can't wait to visit again in the future!!!
